After 23 years, finally without glasses!

Macko Jan Danijel (29) came to our institution with the desire to undergo laser diopter removal. After a detailed examination, it was determined that Daniel is not a suitable candidate for this type of intervention due to his too high dioptre.

However, we did not give up on fulfilling his dream. In order to obtain maximum results, we advised surgery with the installation of intraocular lenses – specially designed, miniature lenses that remain permanently in the eye, taking over the function of the natural eye lens. Because of the specifics of the dioptre, the choice of lenses was very narrow, and such rare dioptres had to be ordered from the manufacturer’s central warehouse in Strasbourg. Thanks to the promptness of our suppliers, less than two weeks after the examination, the lenses were at our clinic. The surgery on both eyes was performed seven days apart.

On the day of the first eye operation, Daniel came accompanied by his aunt, a little scared and worried about the outcome of the operation.

Thanks to the skillful hands of Dr. Ivošević, the operation was successfully performed in just 15 minutes. This operation is a painless and safe procedure, which is performed under drip anesthesia – without injections and stitches. Daniel came out of the operating room smiling with the words: “Well, this is not so scary!”. At the first follow-up the day after surgery on the right eye, Daniel saw without glasses as he did the day before surgery, with his diopter -15.0. His delight was hard to describe.

On the day of the operation on the second eye, Daniel came completely relaxed, because this time he was prepared for what awaited him. And after this operation, he left the hall with a big smile. At the first check-up after surgery, the same excellent result obtained with the installation of a special premium toric intraocular lens was repeated. Before the operation, Daniel’s diopter in the left eye was -10.0 and the astigmatism was 3.50 diopters, and only one day after the operation, the maximum expected improvement in vision was observed.
