Active participation of our team at the XVIII Congress of Ophthalmologists of Serbia

In Arandjelovac, from September 21 to 24, 2017, the 18th Congress of Ophthalmologists of Serbia with international participation was held, which brought together the largest number of ophthalmologists from the country and abroad.

At the congress, we presented two scientific papers on the subject of the installation of the most modern trifocal intraocular lenses of the second generation AcrySof IQ PanOptix (“First experiences with the installation of AcrySof IQ PanOptix presbyopia correcting intraocular lenses” and “The role of AcrySof IQ PanOptix presbyopia correcting intraocular lenses in modern ophthalmic surgery”). We presented the results of a scientific study in which our team was engaged in the period from March to September 2017, in which 23 patients (46 eyes) were included who were fitted with these lenses from the renowned world manufacturer Alcon. Given that all operations went without complications, 94% of patients were satisfied and satisfied with the quality of vision achieved, and even 100% of patients no longer had to use glasses after the operation, we are pleased to point out that the AcrySof IQ PanOptix intraocular lens provides a very predictable and stable refractive outcome, which makes both patients and surgeons satisfied.

After the presentation of the works, the representative of the eye center “Perfect Vision” Dr. Branka Ivošević with Prof. Dr. Branislav Đurović, prim. M.Sc. Dr. Vladimir Pfeifer and the ophthalmologists present, participated in a discussion during which they answered questions and exchanged their experiences and examples from practice.

As part of the Symposium of Ophthalmic Nurses/Technicians, the instrument nurse of our ophthalmic team, Slađana Čapelja, presented a paper on the topic “Work and assistance in the operating room” in which she presented the Patient Safety Protocol as a means of protection and achieving a successful outcome of the operation.
