The World Diabetes Day was marked with a lecture and free screenings
One of the traditional actions of the Perfect Vision eye center, which we are organizing with great pleasure for the sixth year in a row, is certainly the celebration of World Diabetes Day.
On Tuesday, November 21, a large number of our fellow citizens gathered in the premises of the Open University.
The doctors of our team, Dr. Ivana Ambruš Ivazović and Dr. Olga Lošonc, performed fundus examinations of all attendees and individuals, where necessary, and gave advice for further possible examinations.
The importance of prevention
Through an interesting lecture, Dr. Ivana Ambruš Ivazović presented the risk factors that can lead to eye complications in diabetics.
The emphasis is on raising awareness and educating the population about the importance of prevention, as a prerequisite for successful treatment in order to preserve vision.
It is important for patients to come for an examination on time, as well as to check their blood count and blood sugar once a year, because this is the only way to detect the disease at an earlier stage and start treatment in a timely manner.
