In the period from 14.-18. On September 2019, the Congress of the European Association for Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ESCRS) was held in Paris.

With over 9,500 participants and around 3,000 presentations, the ESCRS congress justified its title of the most renowned and largest European ophthalmology meeting this year.

The representatives of our Eye Center, Dr. Branka Ivošević and Jelena Krulj, had the opportunity to attend presentations by some of the world’s greatest ophthalmology experts such as R. Nuijts (Netherlands), O. Findl (Austria), J. Alio (Spain), I. Pallikaris (Greece), J. Vryghem (Belgium), A. Kanellopoulos (Greece), P. Rosen (Great Britain), BC Lemard (France), MJ Tassignon (Belgium) and others, and by participating in numerous symposia and presentations, adopted the latest knowledge in the field of refractive surgery and intraocular lens implantation surgery.

We had the honor to be invited, among a small number of selected ophthalmologists, to the ceremony for the presentation of the new intraocular lenses of the Johnson&Johnson Vision company. Tecnis Synergy is an intraocular lens that represents a combination of multifocal features and “extended range of vision”, enabling continuous, high-quality vision at all distances from the eye, starting from 33 cm and beyond. The Tecnis Enhance lens provides patients with good vision not only at a distance, like standard monofocal intraocular lenses, but also at the so-called. intermediate ie medium distance (65-80cm).

By implanting these new lenses with a unique design on the market, we will be among the first clinics in the world to have this experience.
