19th Congress of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS)

Again this year we attended the symposium of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS), which was held in Istanbul from 20 to 22 February.

The world’s greatest names in ophthalmology have given lectures and courses in the field of cataract surgery, refractive surgery, drug and surgical treatment of corneal diseases. Special attention was drawn to the surgeries that were broadcast live and during which we had the opportunity to see the latest techniques of cataract surgery and the use of the most modern devices that are currently used in this field in the world.

During the congress, nearly 2000 participants had the opportunity to hear 450 lectures and over 400 electronic presentations. Participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with the latest pharmaceutical products from 45 major pharmaceutical companies.

We enjoyed live surgery from the operating block in cataract surgeries during which colleagues from Turkey applied new surgical techniques, the latest types of intraocular lenses using state-of-the-art equipment.

We had the opportunity to exchange expert opinions with colleagues from the region, America, Asia and Europe and learn about news in the field of surgical and conservative treatment.

Our team will continue to strive to provide our patients with the highest quality services by further improving and following modern trends in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases.

Next The ESCRS Autumn Congress is scheduled for 5-9 September 2015 and will be held in Barcelona.
