World Glaucoma Week marked
In order to raise awareness of the seriousness of glaucoma and the importance of early detection and treatment, the “Perfect Vision” eye center has, for the sixth year in a row, marked the World Week of the fight against this vicious disease.

In the period from 07.03.-12.03.2016. in the premises of the House of Health, free measurement of eye pressure and examinations of the head of the optic nerve were organized. Persons who belong to the so-called the risk group is those who have a family history of this disease, are over 50 years old, suffer from diabetes, people with low blood pressure and weakened circulation, people who have cataracts in a small hyperopic (farsighted) eye, as well as people who use corticosteroid therapy for a long time.

A large number of citizens responded to the action. During the examination, patients had the opportunity to talk to the doctor and ask everything they were interested in. For persons with elevated intraocular pressure and changes in the optic nerve head, further tests were recommended, which, in addition to measuring the intraocular pressure, corneal thickness, width of the eye angle, visual acuity check and examination of the fundus, include OCT of the optic nerve head and, if necessary, a computerized visual field.
