The team of the Center for Laser Diopter Removal and Ultrasound Cataract Surgery performed free eye examinations in Zrenjanin – great interest this time as well

The “Perfect Vision” eye team from the “House of Health” polyclinic from Subotica visited Zrenjanin again this year as part of the action of free examinations and educating the population about eye health.

This is the third visit of the eye team from Subotica, which did not differ in terms of the interest of the citizens of Zrenjanin. The crowd in the small hall of the Cultural Center, and even in the corridor, confirms the fact that there is a great need for eye examinations here. It is common knowledge that the eye clinic in the Specialist Polyclinic within the Zrenjanin hospital is overloaded with examinations, and it is clear why the people of Zrenjanin always respond in large numbers to this additional option of a private polyclinic.

– In your city, we held a lecture on the main causes of blindness in the world, namely glaucoma, cataracts, and degenerative changes. The lecture was given by our doctor Ivana Ambruš Ivazović, after which we examined the fundus of all interested people on the spot, measured the eye pressure and diopter. Diopter measurement is a new option that we introduced this year as part of these free pre-readings. It is something basic where we can look and tell people here in the field that they need to wear glasses, but in order to prescribe the appropriate glasses, we still need to do a more detailed examination on the devices that we cannot take to the field. The goal of these actions is to point out preventive examinations, that the health of the eyes should be checked at least once a year or every six months, depending on the condition and need, Miljana Ivošević from Zrenjanin, head of the eye team “Perfect vision”, tells the portal I love Zrenjanin.

A significant number of patients from Zrenjanin also go to their polyclinic in Subotica, where they receive all possible examinations and consultations from experts from state and other private clinics.

– A number of doctors deal with the macular problem, other specialists are in charge of glaucoma, and we really looked to gather a top team of doctors and cover all areas when it comes to examinations, surgeries and eye treatment. As part of these preventive examinations, we very often discover glaucoma in people. It is a disease whose presence is not noticed at first, it narrows the peripheral field of vision, vision does not weaken much, and the patient is not even aware that glaucoma is present, says Ivošević.

Those interested who did not manage to come for a free examination in Zrenjanin can visit “Perfect vision” and have an eye examination. In the polyclinic itself, the pupils are dilated three times, the eye pressure is measured, the fundus is looked at, the diopter is determined, a biomicroscope examination is performed, the visual acuity is determined, i.e., the subjective vision is monitored, and if after all that there is a need for additional examinations, the patient does it within the same polyclinic.
