After 42 years, I can finally see well!
Since I was 3 years old, I couldn’t imagine a single day without glasses. Over time, due to macular degeneration, my vision deteriorated severely. Out of fear of losing my sight, and guided by the feeling that my children still need their mother very much, I decided to do something.

I visited several clinics in Hungary and Romania, in search of an operation that could preserve – improve my vision. However, due to macular degeneration, no one wanted to take responsibility and operate on me. I received a recommendation to seek help at a clinic in Subotica. I found the necessary information on your website, after which I decided to contact you.
I would especially appreciate the kindness and patience you showed me. We made the first contact in February, and I had surgery in June. All that time we were in communication, you answered every question I had and gave me hope that you could solve my problem. You instilled in me strong trust and faith, which is why I decided to travel 600 km to come to you.
You were very accommodating, you tried your best around me and did everything to make my stay in Subotica comfortable. You provided me with accommodation in a nice apartment in the city center. Thanks to the circumstances, the owner of the apartment is a psychologist, so the conversation with her was very pleasant and helped me remove even the little doubts I had. Thanks to your good organization, everything was finished in just three days.
Day 1 – Overview
When I opened the door of the clinic, I was surprised to say the least. I could not have imagined that it is this beautiful, the space is wonderful, the staff is smiling, everyone is willing to help… The atmosphere is really wonderful, as if I entered a “mini magic world”.
All the diagnostic imaging was done by Davor, who was really wonderful. I would especially like to praise Dr. Branka, who devoted herself very much to my examination. She gave me all the necessary information, not only to me but also to my son who was accompanying me. I was impressed that not only the patient is important to you, but also the people who are there to support the patient.

My impression after the first day was that everything here is great – the doctor, the staff, the space, the service… Everything is really the best, the best, the best! With impatience, but also a small amount of fear, I was waiting for tomorrow, when the operation with the installation of aspheric intraocular lenses was scheduled.
Day 2 – surgery
I have to admit that I was really scared before the operation. Immediately after finishing it, I realized that there was no need for it at all. The operation is not painful, the feeling is a little unpleasant, as if a mosquito had entered my eye.
The operation was performed under local anesthesia, which bothered me at first because I thought it would be better to be put to sleep. But now I realize that local anesthesia given in the form of drops, without injections, is definitely the best option, because as soon as the operation was over, I opened my eyes and could see the effects of the operation. I just opened my eyes and finally, after so many years, I could see with my own eyes, without glasses! That feeling cannot be described.
I would like to mention that my goal was not to get rid of my glasses (they never bothered me), I just wanted to preserve, possibly improve my eyesight. The fact that I can now see without glasses is a real miracle, a bonus gift for me. Thank you and a million thanks to Dr. Branka and her entire team.
I’m from a small town where everyone knows each other. Practically everyone in town knew that I was rejected for surgery and that I came to Subotica. Everyone was waiting impatiently for my son to tell them the outcome. You can imagine their delight when he told them the operation was a success!
Day 3 – control
At the first check-up the day after the operation, the doctor told me that the operation was successful and that my vision will stabilize. The next control is scheduled for 7 days.
I followed all the instructions from the doctor, rested and took the prescribed therapy. Every day the vision was getting better. It was strange to me that I no longer wear glasses, because for 42 years they were an integral part of me. Now as soon as I get up in the morning and go to the bathroom, I can see my image in the mirror, clean and clear.
After seven days, I came for my next check-up. I don’t think I can describe in words the feeling when the doctor told me that my vision is now 100%! I instinctively hugged her and cried. With this operation, a new world has opened up for me, because I can finally see with my own eyes!
I want to send you a big THANK YOU! First and foremost, I would like to thank Dr. Branka, who saved me. Thanks also to the girl at the reception desk, Nevena, who gave me all the necessary information in fluent Hungarian, thanks to Slađa, the instrument operator in the room who also explained the entire course of the operation to me in Hungarian, thanks to Davor who prepared me for the operation, and I would especially like to praise Dora, the girl who patiently answered all my questions and without whom I would not be where I am today!
I felt really nice at your place and regardless of the distance, I will only come here for all my check-ups, because I won’t find the trust I gained in you anywhere else.
With respect,
Erika Bokor (45 years old), spa manager, Sovata (Romania)
